Other LLF Charitable Support
In addition to the Bread of Life Food Drive activities lead by Randy Kinder and many others, Lou’s Lads Foundation was also visible across the country at events lead by our members:
- In December of 2015, the Foundation supported Dave Butler’s “Buying Time” fundraiser event in New York City, which, in the name of Danny Butler Memorial Fund, raises money and awareness for cancer research and patient needs
- In February of 2016, the Foundation filled a table at Devon McDonald’s Sports World fundraiser “Choose to Win” Dinner. Devon – or “Devo” as most of us know him – is the President of Sports World, a non-profit organization which sends professional athletes to share personal life experiences with students, helping them to recognize the consequences of their choices while challenging them with a message of hope; helping students make positive choices in their life, and work alongside teachers and administrators, reinforcing what they are already teaching.
- In April of 2016, Wes Pritchett captained a group at the “Wings From Above” charity dinner event in Atlanta on Saturday, April 23, at the College Football Hall of Fame. Coach Holtz spoke at this event benefiting Wings from Above, a medical transport charity. Ron Sewell was the leading organizer of the event. Ron played for Coach Holtz at North Carolina State in the 1970s. Ron was generous and gracious enough to fly Wes Pritchett up from Atlanta to be with us tonight.
- In May of 2016, the Foundation supported Darrell “Flash” Gordon’s annual “Coaches4Kids Golf Outing” Flash is the President/CEO of the Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center, which is a is a family focused, child centered agency providing opportunities for the growth, development and treatment of troubled children and their families - individually, interpersonally and socially - through best-practice programs and a variety of therapy approaches.
